January 9, 2008

The meeting was called to order at 3:20 PM in the Home arts Building on the Indio fairgrounds by Helen White, President. There were 21 members present. We began with a prayer led by Ben Avila and the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag led by Helen White. Helen White then asked each member and guest to introduce themselves.

The Secretary’s Minutes report was presented as in the newsletter dated October 27, 2007. A motion to approve the Minutes was made by Corinne Robinson and seconded by Gary Robinson, all attendees voted in favor of acceptance.

The Treasurer’s report was then read and accepted. We have a balance of $ 1886.05 as of December 31, 2007. We have one outstanding bill owed to Donna Avila of $ 49.20 for 6 Madonna P.S.A. booklets at $8.20 each. This will be paid by the new Treasurer in January, 2008. We will remain with Union Bank and transfer the account to the Thousand Oaks Branch. Helen White will remain as co-signer on the checking account.

Betty Goodin asked for volunteers to audit the accounting from June to December 2007 so that we could complete our 2007 finances. Ben and Donna Avila volunteered to do the audit.

Unfinished Business Mass was cancelled on Thursday and Friday as no Priest was available. More Priests were contacted by Helen White for 4:30 PM Mass on Saturday Night. Everyone was asked to pray that we would be able to get a Priest. Subsequently, Father Jack McGinnis from Indio became available to say the Saturday Mass. There were approximately 200 people in attendance at the Saturday Mass.

Corinne and Gary Robinson told us about a location and possible date for a Spring RC SW camp-out that they will organize if there is enough interest. The location is Lake Skinner near Temecula. A Group section is available if we can guarantee 12 sites. The date would be April 24, 25,26 and 27. A flyer will be mailed to members with more information on this camp-out. This flyer will also remind Members the 2008 Dues are now due.
