ROAMIN’ CATHOLICS SOUTHWEST
Indio Rally Minutes
January 10, 2007
Our meeting was called to order on Jan.10, 2007 at 3:20 pm by our president Helen White
with 18 members present. We began with Father Carney leading us in prayer.
The secretary’s report was read and accepted with no additions or corrections.
It had also been posted on our website.
The treasurer’s report was then read and accepted. We have a balance of $1,589.14
as of Dec.31st, 2006. The treasurer announced that all our treasurer reports and monthly
banking statements had been audited up to June, 2006. She asked if someone would volunteer
to audit June through December, 2006 so that we could wrap-up our 2006 finances. Since there
was little or no activity during the months in that time frame, it would not be time consuming.
Ben and Donna Avila volunteered to do the audit.
Old Business: Donna Avila gave a report on our rally in Santa Barbara in conjunction
with Habitat for Humanity. She was impressed with everyone’s spirit of wanting to help and
said that Habitat for Humanity was pleased with our work on the three condos they were building.
The weather, the participants and the food were all great! Everyone applauded the wonderful
preparations and work that Ben and Donna put forth to make this rally so great.
Pat Tibbots gave a suggestion for a far north summer rally 10 miles north of Chico
at the Trappist Monastery in Vina, CA. They are in the process of rebuilding with materials
shipped here from Spain. They have a wine tasting room and are licensed to sell their wines.
It could be planned to precede the International FMCA Rally in Redmond, OR in August. Public
camping is nearby. Contact Pat and Ron Tibbetts if you are interested.
Helen mentioned two other possible rallies – a revisit to Ma Tar Awa where we had a
wonderful rally last June, or a rally in Temecula. Ondina and Richard Hiel might like to host
the Mar Tar Awa rally again. Anyone interested in looking into and being the Wagon masters of
Temecula let Helen White know. We need feedback on all three suggestions for a rally!
New Business: It was briefly mentioned that we would like to get the word out about our
RCSW Chapter through contact numbers and collection envelopes where we can fill in our Chapter
name.
Masses will be Thur. and Fri. mornings at 7:30 am and 4:30pm on Sat. which will
fulfill our Sun. obligation. A possible Sun mass will be determined later in the week.
Jack White made a motion to adjourn the meeting. It was seconded and adjourned at
3:45 pm.
Addendum: Treas. Reports were audited and approved. A Sun. mass was held.
