The
During the years
this very congenial group has grown and evolved. Their membership is now around
200 with about 100 - 125 'active' and regularly
attending rallies.
About 15% of our
members are Class A motorhomes, not buses. We in no way discriminate against
these members. Our 'class A' members attend our rallies and enjoy the
association of their fellow BusNuts.
Most of our
rallies are held in Washington and Oregon (primarily because most of our active
members live there during the spring and summer months). We hold rallies about once a month from April
through October except during the month the NWMH Assoc. hosts the area rally.
We vary our rally sites from 'dry' camping to full or partial hookups.
The Northwestern
BusNuts cover every socioeconomic group. We have members who are still in the
work force, some are retired, some have children, and some are full-timers.
Some of our members are single - some are married. We have several National
Officers and Northwest Area Officers in the chapter.
Our ages (never admitted
to) range from the early 30s to the late 80s, with the predominate grouping
from 50-70. Age is irrelevant with this group.
Buses attend rallies in showroom to 'bare-bones' condition. No one cares
as long as you're having a good time. We are so pleased when one of our members
comes to a rally and needs a little help with something or announces they've
completed all or a portion of their coach (sometimes after years)...or, when
one of our members brings their brand new professionally converted one. What
really pleases ALL of us is that our members come to us for advice! That is,
after all, why the chapter was organized.
Exchange of knowledge liberally dosed with fun is the whole idea behind
the Northwestern BusNuts!
