ELECTRIC LEMONADE

2 cups cold water

2 cups granulated sugar

1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice

fresh mint leaves

your favorite vodka (optional)

your favorite sparkling water

Directions:

Make simple syrup of the sugar & water & chill the mixture. When cold, add the lemon juice. Pour into plastic ice cube trays & freeze. When frozen they can be removed from the trays & stored in a zip lock baggie. To make the drink, add 3-4 ice cubes to the blender & pour in a jigger of vodka & enough sparkling water to blend to the slushee stage. Pour into a glass & garnish with a mint leaf & a twist of lemon. Sit back & relax in the chaise lounge & enjoy the hot summer daze! (Note-vodka does not freeze so do not add to the simple syrup before freezing. Make a strong tea with the water & proceed as for the lemonade & you will have a delicious Electric Lemon Iced Tea!) MLS
