BROWN SUGAR BACON

This is disappears like magic from the platters!

½ pound of thick sliced pepper bacon (I like bulk sliced bacon from Albertson’s meat counter, 6-8 pieces

1/3 cup packed light brown sugar

1 teaspoon allspice

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  Mix the brown sugar & allspice together in a zip lock bag, (large).

Cut the bacon strips in half.  Toss them in the bag with the mixed up sugar & allspice until they are totally covered with sugar.  Prepare a 15X10X1- inch jelly roll pan by spraying or lining it with baking parchment.  Place the bacon on the prepared pan & bake for 12-14 minutes or until they are crisp but not burned.  Serve warm or at room temperature.  These can be made ahead & reheated in the oven, preferably not the microwave.  Serves 6-8 (dream on!)
